I bought this monitor around 2 weeks ago as I look after my one year old grandson for 4 or 5 days a week. I was quite excited to get started because up until now, I have been using a basic audio monitor to listen for when he wakes up. The set up was quite straightforward and quick to connect however, it will only work on a 2.4ghz WiFi connection and not on 5ghz. Luckily, I have both but some people only have 5ghz. The video quality is reasonably clear but there is a 1 to 2 second delay when watching through the app. I love the pan and zoom features which you can control from the app installed on your phone but one drawback is that you can't make the camera tilt down very much at all so it can't be placed too high up like on a chest of drawers more than 3 feet tall unless it's right at the other side of the room. I've had to place mine on a bedside table. I suppose if you wall mount it with the supplied bracket, then you'll be able to angle it downwards. The sound quality isn't great and the music is quite tinny and not soothing at all. The blue power light on the camera is quite intense too and it frightened my grandson the first few times I used it. Overall, it's an average quality video baby monitor but priced slightly higher than some other brands which are better quality.

Receiving this baby monitor in the post I was instantly excited as the packaging was simple yet professional and I wasn't disappointed when I opened the box either! The camera is lovely to look at in terms of fitting in with decor, looks well made and I liked the wooden effect on it to give it a more earthy vibe! The quality of the camera - simply WOW! It could even see dust on the side of my cot! The camera has motion detection so follows you round the room which I thought was fantastic when watching my husband soothe our baby back to sleep! My main issue with this baby monitor is the use of the app alongside it. The app has frozen several times, which meant switching it on/off all the time, which ultimately meant I was unaware what my baby was doing during this time! Another issue I had with the app was that I wasn't receiving any notifications, I thought you had to sit there with the app open on your phone all night and basically couldn't use your phone during this time. However, this is not the case! The fault was rectified, settings were tweaked and you still have full use of your phone. Although, if you do keep the audio on loud you continue to hear the white noise or music constantly which I found rather off putting. I've only ever used a monitor before that had an energy saving feature which meant it was silent (almost hibernating) until some movement or sound activated it. This feature would completely change this monitor for me! I was also quite put off by the glaring blue light on the monitor - not a problem, the light turns off so you can chose whether you want it on or off! I found it quite hard to determine whether sound was on or off? But once you grasp it it's fine. Perhaps colours Red off and green on may have helped me?? If phone and monitor are too close it makes a really high pitch noise but this is standard with electrical stuff! Just not ideal if you take your phone into the room when you check the baby! Also when playing music through the app, I couldn't work out if it was possible to continuously play 1 song? The monitor went down the list of sounds one after another which I didn't like as the change in sounds often made my baby stir. My partner wanted me to highlight that the sounds weren't overly calming with a series of strange noises following each song which gave him the creeps! Overall the monitor is good, but the app lets it down which is a shame!

I have a Luvion baby monitor already, and therefore I would compare Maxi-Cosi baby monitor with what I am already using. What I love about Maxi-Cosi is : - Wide camera angle - thoughtful features such as motion detector, sound detector - great resolution - able to film, take pictures or record it - elegant design, elegant packaging ( especially the leather wrapping thing on top of adapter cable） you could sense the design of the product. - instruction for installation, pretty straightforward - adjustment of camera angle is quite easy , & fast Other common features that Luvion also has: - Speaker to baby - Baby music songs The only thing that I would recommend is to have the "skip" function in one of the step to upload baby picture. I wouldn't want to upload my baby picture in the web if I don't know who would use it for other purposes. Among all, I really love this product, and would purchase more if I have 2nd baby.
